Our Mission

We are a full-service pediatric office, with two pediatricians, Dr. Smita Parikh Mengers, MD and Dr. Wendy R. VanBronkhorst, MD. As medical professionals and mothers, our practice is committed to providing personalized and comprehensive care for infants, children, adolescents and young adults. Our approach is gentle and conservative, with an emphasis on prevention and quality care. At our office, we enjoy spending quality time with each and every patient and their family. Call us today to schedule an appointment: 301-540-7496.

Newborn Care And In-Patient Hospital Care

At this time, our providers are not seeing newborns in the hospital.

Your baby will be cared for by the hospital’s on-call neonatologist or pediatric team during your hospital stay. Before you go home, the hospital provider will complete your baby’s discharge paperwork. These discharge papers are very important—please be sure to bring them with you to your baby’s first visit in our office.

Once you are discharged, we look forward to welcoming your family to our practice and providing ongoing, personalized care for your baby. If you have any questions or need help scheduling your newborn’s first appointment, our office staff is always happy to assist you.

Child, Adolescent, and Young Adult Care

We provide compassionate, comprehensive care for children from infancy through adolescence. Our focus is on building trusted relationships with families while supporting each child’s physical, emotional, and developmental well-being.

Our services include routine well-child visits, preventive care and immunizations, management of common childhood illnesses, and guidance on growth, nutrition, sleep, behavior, and overall health. We also offer adolescent visits and sports physicals in an environment that is respectful, supportive, and age-appropriate.

We value open communication and encourage parents and adolescents to ask questions and take an active role in their healthcare. Our goal is to partner with families to help children grow into healthy, confident young adults.
